The American Royal
Smoky barbecue chicken, melted cheese blend and a scatter of dill pickles on a hand-tossed crust. Named for Kansas City's big barbecue, and the pie regulars tell first-timers to order.
Specialty · 12" & 16"Hand-tossed homemade crust, a brick-walled room that feels like a side street in old New York, and an owner who will probably stop by your table. That's Pepperoni Bill's.
Rotating pies straight from the oven, the full salad bar, and a plate of pasta with bread brought to your table. Come hungry. Ask about this week's buffet night when you call.
Pepperoni Bill's sits in an old brick building on the Camdenton square. Walk in the original side and it feels like a New York side street with exposed brick and a speak-easy glow. The newer dining room is bright and roomy for families and big tables.
"I met the owner, Pepperoni Bill, and he was so warm and inviting. The staff was friendly and the food was phenomenal."
Bill is an active Lions Club member. When SNAP benefits paused, he served low-cost and free meals to neighbors who needed them, then kept a pay-it-forward board going afterward. Bring the dog, too. Three outdoor tables are pet-friendly.
Read More About BillThe pizza was excellent. You can tell they take their time and care with what they make. The restaurant has a great nostalgic feel, like a place that's been doing things the right way for a long time.
Google reviewThe calzone was delicious! It is big, so it could be 2–3 meals. The service was absolutely, positively excellent. Kind and attentive staff who work hard.
Google reviewThe waitress was hilarious and helpful. The homemade crust was insane. We went off-menu and did a Guy on a Buffalo. Drinks were reasonably priced.
Google reviewWent on buffet night, not realizing they had one, and I do not regret it. $18 for all-you-can-eat pizza and salad, and it came with a plate of pasta and bread. Super filling!
Google reviewBest pizza we've had in a long time! Thin crust and cheesy garlic bread were both delicious. If you're gluten free they have a cauliflower crust option.
Gluten Free Eats communityBest Chicago-style pizza I've had in Missouri. Cool brick speak-easy dining atmosphere. Local favorite, and we especially love their salads.
